2014 Prohibition Tempranillo
Tempranillo was introduced to California in the 19th century by the Franciscan father Junipero Serra.
Thick skinned and moderate in acidity Tempranillo is the principal grape in the production of the Riojo wines. Tempranillo means “early” in Spanish. This varietal loves the micro climate prevalent in parts of Northern California. Our Clarksburg Tempranillo yields medium bodied reds which age extremely will, with hints of cherry & spice, and can reach astonishing complexity within 18 months in French oak and American Oak barrels.
Vino Godfather Tempranillo pairs well with Tapas, sheep cheeses, and with classic Spanish dishes such as roast lamb, fish, and olives.
